There are pros and cons to buying it from home depot vs the plumber buying it from a wholesaler. Main thing is warranty issues. If the heater has problems the plumber that installed it will be able to either replace the unit or change parts with ease, won't have to call customer service and deal with all the bs.

Home Depot has awesome prices on plants, and they have a great return policy. The catch is that you have about a 70% chance of bringing home a plant with spider mites. I just bought two plants from Lowes, and of course, I didn't notice spider mites until it was too late, and those bastards infected nearby plants.

The only thing I’m familiar with is 5/4 from Lowes or Home Depot. Are there other reasonable decay resistant options? My house is a regular house and so no reason to consider some exotic option, but I wouldn’t mind spending an extra $500 if it meant a noticeably nicer project. I’d like the new surface to last 15 years at least.
